Ruin Sentinels

Ugh... these fucking guys. The Ruin Sentinels are formless souls that haunt these distinct suits of armor. They stand guard at the Lost Bastille and Drangleic Castle and assume the positions in Drangleic's royal army. These guys actually made me rage quit Dark Souls 2 the first time around. I could not dodge their attacks no matter what and I did pretty lousy damage to them. Then I learned some things. First off, the stupid Adaptability crap which helps improve your IE rolling frames, secondly, what their weakness is, blunt weapons. All three Sentinels fight the exact same way even though they all have different names. They have insane range with their attacks and they can deal a good amount of damage. When you enter the fight, you'll start on a small platform with one of them. Try killing that first one on that small platform. If he falls off, he'll jump back up to fight you. If you fall off however, you're screwed. The other two Sentinels will come after you and you'll die in seconds. It usually takes a minute for the other Sentinels to come after you so hopefully you have enough damage to kill the first guy. The other two you'll have to fight on the ground because that platform will get too crowded. There really isn't much of a way to just fight one at a time. There is nothing around for the Sentinels to get stuck behind. There are some pillars that just break when they get hit and it doesn't help at all. For new attacks, they can spin-to-win and it's really annoying to dodge because they are so fast. One of the Sentinels can throw it's shield which really does nothing useful for him, now he can't block your attacks. If you have low adaptability, using a shield is also another useful option for you. Even with a good ADP stat, some of these attacks drag on for so long. Believe or not, the fight is not too terrible if you have a mace or a hammer. They'll take double damage from blunt weapons and it makes the fight tolerable. Also magic is really effective but... I don't use magic.

Ruin Sentinels reminds me of Ebrietas from Bloodborne. If you have a weapon the boss is weak to, the fight isn't too bad. Coming in with a not as useful weapon however, the fight can take far too long. Don't be like me and rage quit like a little baby. Try to space the Sentinels out and focus on one at a time. Well, one thing good from these guys, it kept DarkSydePhil away from the game. I'll place these guys above the Old Dragonslayer.
