So growing up in Asia it was normal for me to always take off my shoes whenever I enter a house or apartement whether it'd be my own or someone else's. 
I kind of accepted this as common knowledge when I was young, I mean it makes sense hygienically and I felt it's more comfortable that way. As I grew up I learned that this was kind of an Asian thing apparently, not something done by everyone.
Watching a lot of western shows and movies I notice that people don't seem to take their shoes off at home. I'm a bit unsure if this is just how the media portrays people's lives in like the US or Europe or if this is really just something ya'll do.
The thought randomly came back to me and got me wondering. Do you take your shoes off when at home?
