Ah yes, Wario Land 3, one of my favorite games on the Game Boy Color! Seriously, this game is freaking awesome, with a great focus on puzzle solving in a way, finding treasures by creatively getting through the environment and defeating wacky bosses. See, you can't die in Wario Land 3 (until the final boss anyway), so most of the enemies serve to either stun you so you lose level progress, or provide some kind of modification to how Wario moves around. Some barriers can only be broken if Wario is on fire for example, others require him to get super fat and heavy from a chef creature throwing a doughnut at him, or becoming a zombie that falls down whenever he jumps on a platform he can go through from the bottom. All of the levels are built around these mechanics, including the bosses. If you lose to a boss, you don't die, but rather lose a bit of level progress and have to get back to them where you can try again.

Anyway, back to the level at hand. This music scared the shit out of me when I was a kid, even with how utterly minimalistic it is, or maybe because of it. Doesn't help that the enemies at the start of this level are hard to avoid while you're required to climb ladders and vines, so one hit will send you all the way back down.
