Well, mainly due to my intense fan nature of the Halo series (I mean seriously, I got the books.. the games.. some other stuff.. I guess I collect it [Almost 152 in H5 as well so woot]), I decided to share it's knowledge with you all. Not because I'm lonely or anything... I figured I'd start with the Covenant species and go from there. Why the grunts first? Well.. their cannon fodder so if I decide to bail out this'll just add to the body count I guess. I'll try to avoid spoilers, but I mean.. geez play Halo people ;-; It's great


Unggoy :: Grunt
Height; 4ft - 5ft tall (140-170cm)
Weight; 240-260 pounds (110-120kg)
Notable features; Exo and endoskeleton, round heads, stubby limbs, wrinkly skin, high pitched voice, vertebroid and arthropoidal
 Integrated into the Covenant 2142, serving more in fear than in shared faith

While indoctrinated into the Covenant, the Unngoy often found themselves in a rivalry with the other low ranking species, the Kig-Yar(Jackals). This rivalry led to the Unggoy Rebellion in 2462, after the Kig-Yar tried to poision recreational drugs the Unngoy used in order to sterilize the Unngoy. Eventually leading to full riots in the lower districts of High Charity[The Covenant capital city] which caused the instatement of a new Arbiter. In order to quell the riots, the Arbiter decided to glass the Unngoy homeworld Balaho while the Unngoy watched. After a rapid surrender by rebelling Unngoy, the glassing ceased. While they rebelled many times, this would be the most important rebellion.

Post rebellion, the Grunts were accepted by Sanghelli[Elite] forces, giving the Unngoy better training and weapons, for their warrior spirit and overall fierceness in CQC.

One of the first forces seen during the Human-Covenant war, they often were seen in every battle due to their vast numbers (Thanks to their overpopulating[Born in large egg clutches] and rapid maturing[5-8 years until adulthood], they were never in low supply)
Poor soldiers as they are, from bad shots to general cowardice, they don't pose a major threat but are still a threat as they are to civilians/standard infantry. Oh, don't get too close either, they aren't afraid to martyrdom on anyone who spooks 'em.
Psyche: While overall a dim witted race, the ones with a better intelligence are rather dangerous. Often a more sociable race due to a pack mentality.
