A lot has changed for me since last year... For better or for worse, I'm not really sure. Perhaps it's wrong to think that way entirely, and everything is merely the result of the wheel turning.

I haven't been very active, and that is due to a great deal of change, as I mentioned. I was still undergoing training last year, but now I'm a fully fledged airport security office. It's honest work, and I'd say it matches many of my skills, despite being often tiring. Sometimes we have to stand up for 10h in a single shift, sometimes two shifts only have 9 hours of break in between. Sometimes you have to go to bed at the same hour you woke up the previous day. I could rant on about the pros and cons, but in the end, it's work. What matters is that you do it right and that you hold the position, no?

I managed to buy a house. I didn't think it would be possible, but with careful saving I was able to make a solid offer on an apartment... And it was accepted. It's nothing huge, but anything bigger would have been troublesome to keep so clean by one person alone. I even have an empty bedroom I have no idea what to do with, and a second bathroom that is equally unused. It's located at an acceptable distance from the airport, in a peaceful little town, and offers pretty much all I need from a house.

I suppose all this doesn't come without a cost... Not just the financial cost of the whole operation, no. I can't quite tell if it's because of how busy I've been, essentially working two jobs, looking for housing, cooking, cleaning and everything I was still in a shared apartment... But I've turned out to be quite the loner. I can't say it's never happened before, but I've found myself removed from friend lists quite a bit, and the other way around, I found myself clearing my own the other day. Coworkers are your average people you'd meet in any workplace, I don't really wish to hunt for friends in the traditional way. I tend to steer clear from clubs and such. I also took my distance from my family, partially because we don't see eye to eye on some things, partially because I'd rather not be a dead weight to my family anymore, like I had been for the past years during which I was sick and then recovering from it. What's left of my family, anyways.
