How to Safely Sell an Item?

I got a pro Killstreak rocket launcher kit, and want to sell it. I just don't really know how. I do not want to sell it on the community market. Some people on reddit went into my DMs and were making me offers, and offering to pay first, but I am not sure if they can be trustworthy. I just don't wanna get scammed.
