The bat effects are some of the most unique in the game. They function a bit like an orbiting effect, but they aren't on a set orbit. Instead, they erratically move around your head. They'll usually stay pretty close, though they can get far too. I'd consider this set to be a genre of its own. They're sort of like familiars/followers than anything else. I wish we had more effects like this.
