So someone at Nippon Ichi Software was like, "Hey this Disgaea game is good, but you know what would be better? If it was great." And thus Disgaea 5 was born, fixing pretty much all of the flaws of the previous games and making your journey to Level 9999 worthwhile.

I'm not even joking. Disgaea's always had some flaws that made the game less fun than it should be. 5 improves upon pretty much everything that was mediocre in the previous games (Capturing enemies and Chara World come to mind), adds some bells and whistles that makes the regular grind more fun, and delivers it in a fairly enjoyable story. I mean... yeah. The story's probably the weakest point in the game as of my writing (I'm something like six chapters in, out of 18 I think?), but even then it's not boring. 

If you have a PS4, consider picking it up. If you have a Switch, definitely pick it up (because you need another game after Zelda, right?).

Shiny Score: 9.8/10, would certainly skip work to play it more.
