Tf2... as Smash Bros Characters? Part 4

I present the Pyro Moveset! This one is a bit longer but I'm proud of it!

So a lot more detail was put into this one but how was I suppose to add this ambiguously gendered psychopath into Smash while staying true to their character? By focusing it on the most insane aspects of Pyro! Pyrovision! 

He doesn't wield the fire axe but instead the lollichop because that's more wholesome! Also he uses the rainblower to shoot fucking rainbows. And most of his aerial attacks use effects from pyrovision such as balloons, bubbles, confetti and more rainbows! The reason I made Pyro use Pyrovision is because that's what the character is really like! It translates well to his moves and sets Pyro apart from the rest of the mercs by using what is essentially magic in his moves. Also Kirby gains Pyrovision goggles when copying Pyro. 1. I thought it was adorable and 2. it be less unsettling than Pyro's gas mask.

His flare gun projectile replicates the crit on burning players mechanic by making it deal triple damage when it lands on the same opponent twice. Obviously this is because afterburn is not a mechanic I can just add for Pyro's sake in this scenario. 

Pyro also uses all his Jungle Inferno weapons. Nice. The hot hand makes an excellent pummel and the thermal thruster is the perfect recovery.

I also wanted to give Pyro a reflector using the airblast but I had to balance it in a way that wouldn't be frustrating for other players when they get pushed off. I didn't give it a cooldown cause that would be lame for a reflector so I just make it not work on other players after being airblasted for 5 seconds before it works again on them. We don't need TF2 problems to worm their way into a smash game because god knows smash is a can of worms on their own right sometimes.

And of course the best part of the moveset, the Final Smash! I really love to pay homage to the Meet the Pyro video which is one of the best Team video in my opinion. At the end there is a recreation of this shot that may be the only glimpse into the real Pyro's horror before going back to normal. By far my most favorite final smash I've come up with.

I cannot aim to save my life Well, I don't think airblasts are a very damaging attack which is why I made it a special reflector.

I cannot aim to save my life I think you mean down air. I was also once considering using it as a spike/boost similar to R.O.B.

I was thinking about using the detonator for his Down-B, as it launches you up, but can also be used for a spike. Mainly because of Sketchek

Some Nerdwad Taunts are taunts. And adding a taunt that originally could kill and then retroactively make it UNABLE to kill would seem strange. So instead a middle ground is reached where an attack is based on those taunt kills. I get the excitement of reading your opponents but there are better ways to pull those off with regular attacks.

Some Nerdwad Taunts in smash bros are not used to kill others. Luigi is the only exception and honestly I don't know why it's the case. Apart from that one case, no other taunts work like that and a select few deal tiny damage. I don't feel that giving a bunch of the mercs taunt kills is what they need to represent TF2 or its humor. The weapons, voice lines and personality of the mercs are better way to show that.

☈uffcrane No_Trigger Who’s to say pyro cannot use the same move twice? Ness’s up air and f air are the same move, just angled differently. The Hadouken could be the same way, and I think keeping the humor of pyro’s actions is important, since he represents tf2 in this scenario. Besides, how hype would it be if you read someone and got a kill with a taunt?

Some Nerdwad I prefer not to make kill taunts regular taunts because they would feel strange when they don't outright kill. I know Luigi's taunt does but that's like an exception. However I try to consolidate this by making some of the taunt kills into actual moves. If you check out the moveset you'd find that Pyro's Hadouken is referenced in his back air and the Armageddon taunt is the source of Pyro's Down smash. I think it's way neater to make them actual moves then a taunt that leaves you vulnerable with no payoff.

Maybe the side taunt could be the hadouken taunt? It would obviously not instakill, but deal 5 damage and launch a generous amount, a reference to TF2’s taunt kills, keeping the humor of it

fire Well thank god that isn't his side B but it is "WM-2" which could very well be an instant KO for characters with shit recovery. Also his WM-1 is his multi-hitting neutral attack so at least it's still included.
