Recently I got a strange Shortstop, so I could justify actually using the thing. Surprisingly, It's probably going to be my best " Scattergun "

Its hard to even call it a Scatter gun though. While the Shortstops has very few stats listed, the gun works in a completely different way to the other Scatterguns. Starting with whats in the stats on the item's discription, It has 2 less shots in its clip, and it reloads all of its shots at once. Pretty sure the clip size penatly is one of the only down sides in the game that just isn't in red text. I guess they just didn't want a weapon to have a large body of red text and a tiny " reach out and shove someone " in blue. 

Moving on to the hidden stats, the Shortstop fires 40% faster than the Scatter gun, has 60% less pellets (4) that do twice as much damage and travel in a tightly packed square. The Shortstop also has a pretty shitty damage ramp up, but gains random crits for two seconds instead of just a random shot being a crit, making it more like a pistol than a scattergun.

As to why I like it so much, Its more of a safe weapon to use than the other options are. Scout in general wants you to get real close to your enemies for that juicy damage ramp up, but if you can't aim ( like me ) than you usually die horribly. While the Shortstop does decent damage at close range, its medium range damage is probably the best out of all the shotguns. You can just hose down someone with bullets, and it will kill most light classes by the time your clip runs out.

This weapon definitly was a good combonation with the Mad Milk. You would milk the person, than pelt them at medium range, healing most of the damage they do to you. While being a survivalist scout is a little less effective due to the nerf the Shortstop got, It still works pretty well.
