Daily Topic #360
Looks like #savetf2 finally got Valve to respond on Twitter, causing many people to be hopeful. Personally however, I think that it's more of another empty promise from Valve once again, so people really shouldn't be getting their hopes up, especially considering that Valve before 'handled' the TF2 bots problem by simply muting every F2P in game and increasing the vote cooldown rather than actually working on fixing the problem. If Valve actually does fix the bot problem however, I will eat an entire raw onion.
Rules and conditions for the Refined metal prize can be found in Daily Topic #57 at any time, same as always.
Today's topic question is: What food/foods do you regret trying?
For me, it's quite a number of foods, however I'll just state the three which I seem to remember and regret the most:
1. Garlo's Beef Curry Pie. As a fan of savoury pies, I decided to have a try of a portion of a Garlo's Beef Curry Pie back when I was a kid, which turned out to be one of the most spiciest things I ever tasted in my entire life. As someone whose taste buds are really sensitive to spicy food, even after cup after cup of water, my tongue still felt burned out and my head overheated. It took at least half an hour for my head and body to eventually cool down.
2. Bánh mì (Vietnamese baguette sandwich). A while ago when I was a kid, I was feeling hungry while walking through the streets on a weekend with my family, so I was thinking of eating a Subway meatball sandwich. My parents however, argued that a vietnamese sandwich would taste better so I decided to try that instead from a place which sold them nearby, a decision which I highly regretted as it was absolutely horrible. Not saying that all vietnamese sandwiches are horrible, but this one certainly was. The sauces used just weren't right at all with the taste being seriously weird, especially in a sandwich and caused quite a portion of the sandwich to be soggy, the meat was cold, poor in quality and too bland and the rest of the fillings were overtaken by an excessive amount of grated carrot. While I would normally finish all of my food as I am generally a lot less of a picky eater compared to most people that I know of, I just couldn't do the same with this absolutely awful sandwich and ended up throwing some of it in the bin.
3. McDonald's Angus Burger. Unlike the other two on this list, the regret didn't come from the taste of it, as it definitely didn't taste bad but rather what I got from it in regards to it's price. I had decided to try out this burger as I wanted a change of choice from the usual Big Mac. Despite being more expensive than the Big Mac, it had only slightly more filling than a regular cheeseburger and didn't have anything to it at all which made it stand out, especially considering it's expensive price. Undoubtedly the most overpriced burger I had ever tried in my entire life.
