Yeah, that's right.  That's the flag.  You know what that is?  It's a Mosscreep.  What's a Mosscreep?  It's an enemy from Hollow Knight.  It is very small.  It is love, it is life, it is the embodiment of all the happiness left in a dying apocalyptic wasteland stuck in time and inhabited by bugs of both friend and foe.  It is the Wooloo of its game, but unlike the game that Wooloo is from, the game that Mosscreep is from isn't terrible.

Mosscreep is not a flag.  Mosscreep could be a flag if it wanted to, but it isn't.  But that doesn't matter.  Mosscreep is so good that it blows all the previous flags out of the water and takes this spot anyway.  It earns this spot.
