Now these are the stages you go to once you hit a gold ring. In these new Special Stages you collect Chaos Emeralds from UFOs in a Sonic R style. with you collect Blue Spheres to increase your speed and rings to stay in the stage. However, you can fall off the stage, so be careful!

I actually feel like I can complete these after enough tries, the physics are kinda wonky kinda like Blue Sphere's input delay where you kinda just get used to it.

So, far I only have 3 in Mania Mode and none in Encore Mode.
